Bio-Page -----
--I started making photos with a camera that was given
to me on my ninth birthday....

--Majoring in Art and Psychology in College - I was nineteen when I
decided to become a full-time photographer.

--After years of freelancing for the Associated Press and
United Press International,  I became a staff photographer
with the N
ew Jersey's largest newspaper,  The Star-Ledger,
where I worked for  2 decades,  most of those years as a bureau
photographer in western NJ.
--In the year 2000,  it became mandatory for the photo staff to enter
major photo contests,  every year.

>> 23  Photography Awards,  including:
-- " Best of Show "    in the very competitive
New York Press Photographers Assoc.
--  Six -  1st Place awards.. -  NY-PPA -  NJ-PPA -  NJPA -
--  Several   2nd and 3rd places in  above contests....
--  Participant in,  and contributor to The Star-Ledger's staff
winning
The PULITZER PRIZE  For Breaking News....
and,  most recently,  placing in the Top Twenty in  WPJA's
International Wedding Photo Contest.

-- When a very generous buy-out offer was made to all staffers in
February 2006.  I decided to leave the newspaper business, and
eventually formed
 STEVE  KLAVER  PHOTOS LLC .

During my off hours......

"Naturally,  my style of
photography is
photojournalistic,  since I
have years of experience
doing just that.

As most photographers
would admit,  a good
photojournalist must be able
to make prize-winning
images with any and all
subject matter,  going in
with absolutely no
pre-planning at all.

This style of image- gathering
seems to be what families
want in their photo albums.

You will see perfectionist
results in the photos I make
for you.
